Effective Oracy for Critical Thinking

Oracy is a critical skill that underpins many of the essential elements of the CfW, including assessment IN Learning, effective collaboration, self-regulation and thinking skills. It also supports the development of learners, including those made more vulnerable from one of the most vulnerable. Huw Duggan was responsible for bringing Voice 21 to South Wales and has worked closely with them. This course is based on educational research and gives simple strategies to implement quickly.

The Course Objectives include:

  •  What is oracy, and how can we implement learning to talk and learning through talk?

  • How does the teaching of effective oracy link to and develop assessment in learning?

  • What are the best strategies to introduce oracy in the short and long term?

  • How can we improve questioning for better thinking and collaboration?

  • How can teachers build oracy-rich environments in schools?
